Introduction

Hi! I’m Danielle. I’m a wife and a stay at home mom of four girls. I’ve had Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis with Hypothyroidism since I was in middle school, and to varying degrees, have been working towards remission for the past four years.

I’m here because I want to share my journey in the hopes of encouraging others who have made similar goals to heal the root cause of autoimmune diseases. It’s a daunting task to take on a new way of eating, living, shopping, and more, and I hope to encourage those in similar situations that we can move in the right direction one step at a time.

Before 2019, I didn’t know it was possible to reverse the effects of Hashimoto’s. But after learning a whole lot more about the root cause of Hashimoto’s and gut health, I not only understood that it’s possible to improve my thyroid conditions but also if I don’t, my body will continue down the path of chronic illness and worsening symptoms.

So my next question was “what do I need to do to improve my autoimmune and thyroid conditions?” And the answer was an overwhelming and often conflicting list of eat-this-not-thats, buy this expensive thing, get lots of sleep, replace everything in your house with a fancier version, work through all your emotional trauma, and last but not least, reduce your stress levels.😅

While there might be a lot of merit to each of those lifestyle changes, it’s an intimidating venture to take on. Additionally, it felt like all the people suggesting those changes had already “arrived”— they ate according to the perfect diet all the time, had all the fancy gizmos and gadgets to help live a clean lifestyle, and basically, had it all together.

So, here I am—far from perfect but trying to take one healthier step at a time. I’ll document some lifestyle changes, experiment on myself, experience some successes and failures, and hopefully we can learn together along the way. 🩷
